What Is Salmon DNA in Skincare? What the Label Actually Means

The everyday name for PDRN and PN, because the DNA fragments are extracted from salmon, usually the milt. It sounds like science fiction; it is one purified ingredient.

On the label

Salmon DNA rarely appears in the ingredient list itself. Look for sodium DNA, PDRN or polynucleotide. The words on the front are marketing; the list on the back is the fact.

What it does not mean

It does not mean the product smells of fish, is unsafe for anyone with a fish allergy without asking, or is vegan. It is an animal derived ingredient.
