What does the roller actually do?
It applies the serum and massages it in. Rolling spreads a 5ml ampoule evenly across the face without dragging at the skin the way fingertips do, and it is a more comfortable way to work a light serum in. That is the whole of it. It is an application tool, not a treatment.
Is it going to sting?
There is no acid and no retinoid in it. The formula is water, glycerin, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and propylene glycol, which is about as unprovocative as a serum gets. If your skin reacts to most things, this is built for that. Patch test on your inner arm first if you would rather be sure.
How long does a set last?
Four ampoules at 5ml is about a month of nightly use on a full face. Use it a few nights a week and it stretches further.
Do I need a new roller each time?
No, and that is the design. The head unscrews and fits the next ampoule, so the refill is serum only. Rinse it under warm water and let it dry between ampoules.
What will it not do?
It will not fix a diagnosed skin condition, it will not remove a scar, and it will not do anything a dermatologist would charge for. It is a hydrating serum with a comfortable way of applying it. Anything sold to you beyond that is being made up.
What if I do not get on with it?
Ninety nights, then tell us and we refund it. You do not need to send back an empty box.
Does it hurt, and should my skin be red afterwards?
It should not hurt. The head is 0.25mm, which is the shallowest of the roller sizes sold for home use, and at that depth it is an application tool rather than a treatment. Use light pressure and let the weight of the bottle do the work. Some people see faint pink for a few minutes, the way skin goes pink after any massage. If it stings, scratches, or leaves marks that are still there the next morning, you are pressing far too hard, or it is not for your skin. Either way, stop.
How do I clean the roller?
Rinse the head under warm running water after each use and stand it upright to air dry. Do not scrub it, do not boil it, and do not put it in a dishwasher. When you move it to a fresh ampoule, rinse it first. Replace the whole roller if the head ever looks bent or discoloured.
Can somebody else use my roller?
No. One roller, one person, the same way you would not share a razor. This is the one rule in the whole routine that is not about results.
Can I use it around my eyes?
Keep it off the eyelid and the orbital bone. The skin there is much thinner than the rest of the face and it is not what this is for. Cheeks, forehead, jaw and neck are fine.
How often should I use it?
Nightly is what the four ampoules are sized for, and it is what the timeline on this page assumes. A few nights a week works too and stretches a set further. There is nothing to gain from using it twice in one day.
Where does it go in my routine?
On clean, dry skin, before anything else. Cleanse, dry properly, roll this on, then let it settle for a minute before a moisturiser or an oil if you use one. It goes under other products, never over them.
Can I use it with retinol or an acid?
Not on the same night. There is no acid and no retinoid in this serum, but rolling anything over skin that has just had one is how people end up irritated. Alternate nights, or use this on the nights you are not using the stronger thing.
Can I use it if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Ask your midwife, doctor or pharmacist first. We are not qualified to answer that for you and we are not going to pretend otherwise, even though the formula is short and has no acid or retinoid in it.
Do you ship outside New Zealand?
Not yet. Checkout is New Zealand only, so the address form will not accept an overseas one. Orders leave Auckland the next business day and most of the country has them within two to four working days.
How do I skip a month or cancel?
From the link in any email we send you, in about two clicks, with nobody to talk to and nothing to explain. Skip pushes the next delivery back a month and cancel stops it outright. You keep whatever has already arrived.
